It’s getting cold out, which means there’s more time to stay in and experiment with cool projects and recipes to brighten up your holiday season! Twine is always a big hit over the holiday season and this year we learned it is a simple way to complete the perfect fall look!  

By wrapping a long piece of twine around a light bulb, making sure to cover it completely, you get a pear shaped twine decoration that would go wonderfully on a display dish or in a jar with other festive fall fruits and decorations!

Another twine favorite this year are the twine shaped balls.  These can be used to brighten up the table with a battery tea light placed inside or displayed on a big platter with some twine covered fruit, leaves, and pinecones to complete the look!  Simply soak your twine in a glue and water mixture, blow up a couple of balloons to your desired size, and start wrapping! When the glue-soaked twine dries completely you can pop the balloons and TA DA!

Finally, to really get the full fall feel everyone knows a delicious warm apple dessert is in need! This apple bread braid is super easy to make! You can start by slicing the apples into thin slices and toss the apples in cinnamon, sugar, and a dash of lemon juice then put them in the oven to start cooking while you prepare the dough.

When the dough is ready knead it flat and cut slits into it leaving the center unsliced.  Pour your cooked apples onto the uncut portion of the bread and finish by crossing the slits over the apples to complete the braided look! After cooking until lightly golden brown, your apple braid is ready for a vanilla glaze coating before allowing the apple braid to cool! This dessert is delicious and it makes the house smell fantastically like fall!

Ingredients
For the Apple Filling
3 medium-size Granny Smith apples
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
2 teaspoons lemon juice
For the Bread
2 1/2 cups bread flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon instant yeast
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup warm water
2 1/4 teaspoons vegetable oil
For the Glaze:
1/3 cup confectioner’s sugar, sifted
5 teaspoons whipping cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of kosher salt
Pinch of nutmeg

Of course, none of these decorations are complete without our new snowman candle warmer warming your favorite winter scent!
